FAQ

Where is my data stored? Does it go to the cloud?
Local by default: canvases save as single .xdt files (three canvas types, multi-page), knowledge-base entries as real .md files — bind a local folder and they appear in your file explorer; editing works offline. Cloud sync and team collaboration are opt-in and only connect when enabled.
How do I configure AI? Does it cost extra?
Fill in your own API key in settings — DeepSeek, AISpeech and OpenAI-compatible endpoints all work; keys are encrypted locally. Costs follow your provider; the software takes no cut.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Canvas editing, layout switching and format export are all offline; only AI generation and web fetching need a connection.
Can I edit AI-generated diagrams?
Yes — that’s the core promise: AI draws real nodes and connectors on the canvas, not pictures. Drag positions, edit text, swap shapes and colors wherever you like.
Which platforms are supported?
Windows / macOS desktop apps (installers coming soon), plus an online version in any modern browser — same features.
Any watermarks or export limits?
Seven formats, freely: PNG / SVG / PDF / Word / Markdown / TXT / JSON — the watermark toggle lives in the export panel and can be turned off for free.
Which import formats are supported?
The knowledge base takes 13: Word / Excel / PPT / PDF (auto-OCR for scans) / HTML / Markdown / TXT / RTF / CSV / EPUB / OpenDocument / Evernote ENEX / Notion export — plus 8 import routes like web clipping, email sync and Readwise.
